Good luck, with every cell phone out there now having built in cameras with video capability you can't keep them all out.I am producing a beauty pageant. What do I have to do to ban video cameras?
It's hard to ban video cameras because someone will always find a way to sneak a camera into the pagent. Did you consider asking people to ';check'; everything at the door?
First, have an announcement in the program along the lines of ';Please, we ask our audience not to use video and/or camera equipment during the show.'; Then, make sure to put a house board-- a sign in the lobby-- stating this as so. Before the show, make the announcement along with the standard announcements (Welcome to the show, please turn off your cell phones, etc etc). Also, have whomever is acting as the Lead Usher or House Manager or whomever will be working along that line make sure to continuously walk through the house on the sides looking for such equipment. You can also, if you so choose, have the show actually video recorded for those parents and such who would like a recording, and charge them for it. This would require someone with a camera and the ability to make DVDs out of the footage. But, if you find this person; the payment of the DVD's themselves can be part of their pay. This way, the parents and such get what they want and you can control the video footage.
