they look SOOO plastic! like little mini barbie dolls! its gross how ther parents treat them like little angels and give them whatever they want.What do you think of little girls in beauty pageants?
i think it could be considered a good hobby. but that is ONLY if the little girl wants to be in pageants. I know a lot of pagent moms force their children into pagentry, but some encourage their daughters to try it, and the daughters enjoy it. i think that in the long run it provides confidence and lets the girls know that they are beautiful and they won't doubt themselves. especially the ones that compete naturally. even the glitz girls will take away confidence from competing in pagents because they definately won't end up being shy, and being outgoing gets you far in life if you know how to use it correctly.
I think it depends on the parent of the little girl, actually.





Getting dressed up and looking pretty is something that most little girls really like. I know that I would have loved it when I was a kid so I don't have any problem with that part, as long as the kid's doing it because she wants to and she thinks it's fun.





Some ';pageant parents'; like to suck all the fun out of it for the kid. They push the girl farther and harder, making her wear dresses and makeup that she doesn't necessarily like but the parents are convinced will make their little girl win. It becomes more about the parent getting a trophy and a tiara and a sash than the kid getting them through having fun.





As long as the little girl's having fun doing it, then I'm all for it. Let the kid be happy. Keep the moms out of the way.
It's creepy. But I think the mom's don't realize that. If it was just the moms and girls doing it, it would be OK, just some very silly and expensive and time consuming form of 'dress-up'.





What makes it creepy is simple - it's the combination of little girls (who are non-sexual), being dressed and made up to look like adult women (who are sexual). A normal person who is not into the whole pageant thing just sees that, and thinks it's wrong because little girls should not be sexual. Of course, sexuality is not just appearance, but it is what people see in this case.
Little girls who look like mini Barbies with their pounds of makeup aren't cute. They look creepy... I think it's disgusting. What is this teaching them? Look good or else everyone will reject you? It makes it even worse if they're really young and don't know what they're doing and their parents are just being pushy and demanding. But not all of them are victims. There are those who truly want to put themselves through this. They could potentially have major self-image issues (not that many other women don't have issues of a lesser degree). I still think it's disgusting, but if some little girls want to go through with it, what can you do? I hope some of these girls have parents who are down to earth and can teach their kid to be the same when things get rough
I think it's disgusting that parents dress their children like mini prostitutes and have them judged by creepy old men on how they look.

little girls shouldn't be worrying about looks and stuff like that at such a young age. and the fact that parents would use their kids for this just disgusts me.
it depends on their age if their like 6 they prolly dont know what they r doing and their parents are living through them but there is no problem if they want to do it and are not being forced
It's so sad! Those little girls are being raised by SUPER pushy and mean and competitive moms. It's not a good way to grow up!
