Has the human race done more to create or to destroy beauty in the world?

I'd have to say that it's done both. I'm not sure of what the actual proportions of each would be though. Also, beauty seems to be redefined with each new generation, so it's hard to say. Plants and animals becoming rare or extinct would be destruction, but the various arts and attempts at regenerating would be beauty.Has the human race done more to create or to destroy beauty in the world?
What separates humanity from animals is our ever increasing desire to fulfill our egos. This desire has shaped all of human life.

The ego continues to grow and demand more fulfillment with each passing generation. The ego demands we fulfill ourselves at the expense of everyone and everything on the planet.

Humans once lived in small family tribes but now we live in a globalized world of complex nations. Now that the ego has reached a global level it has the capacity to completely destroy all of human civilization as well as the entire planet.

The only way out of our destructive nature is to realize we are destroying ourselves with our own insatiable egos. When we come to the understanding that our egoism will no longer serve us, and that we must learn to live together as one global family, the human race will create the perfect and ultimate beauty.

There are some links that will further explain the role of egoism in the global world:

we are not perfect creatures but the smile of a newborn or the view from the space station, artists of the past, and great books from years ago. no we are not the killers of the earth not all of us. there is a lot of beauty created by humans and still more to come. so i say we have done both but it is better for people to see the bad then good.
Beauty and its definition lies in the mind of the beholder. But if you are referring to scenic natural beauty, yes, we are totally messing with it.
Destroy, but the relation of quantity to quality is difficult to assess. Fear, anxiety and stress usually destroys the ability appreciate beauty.
..... human race

has always

destroyed the beauty,

people do not know how to

handle a beautiful maiden,

they reduce her to a physical

wreck due to misuse
it completely depends on your view of beauty. if you feel we are progressing, and that is beautiful, then where is there any destruction?
Destroy, Deforestation, Killing each other, speeding up global warming, I'm pretty sure these things are destroying whatever beauty is left.
Destroyed natural beauty and created artificial beauty.
it has only destroyed... they still dont realise that mother nature is much more powerful than the human mind..
destroy!♥

Humans destroy only what Mother Nature allows?
Human race destroys the world out of greed.
