I don't understand - are feminists saying that you can't be equal AND look good?Why are so many feminists opposed to beauty?
I don't know. I can't stand it when girls dress like men. I am all for being equal but i think you should embrace the fact that you a woman and that you can be girly and wear make up and dresses... it has nothing to do with being equal. Strong and beautiful is just fine!Why are so many feminists opposed to beauty?
I'm with Haley on this one. Even if there are inequalities in social paradigms, they shouldn't be defied just because they ARE social paradigms.
I myself love the way women look, and I see no harm in seeing them as beautiful instead of ';emancipated';, ';developed';, ';intelligent'; and ';independent'; - even though I don't necessarily disagree with them wanting to have those attributes.
That is all subjective, while beauty can be caught without subjective relativity on a conscious level.
Seriously; why be afraid to be beautiful or feminine?
